Are Creatures considered spells?

Are creatures considered "Spells" or is it just Enchantments and Sorceries

Yes that confused me at the beginning too, but basically all non land cards are considered spells while they are being played (and while they are on the stack). The the creatures become permanents after leaving the stack and resolving.

So yes, creatures are considered as Spells. (like for counterspell and such)
