what is magic card with biggest toughness
I think there was a 20/20 token but technically that is not a legal card.
its not a card at all in game terms because as you said its a token but there are tournament decks out there taht bring him into play as early as turn 2 ^^.
appart from that the biggest printed toughness would be Autochthon Wurm and if you want to include silverborderd cards too the allways popular B.F.M..remember to ask the people you play with if they are ok with silverborderd befor playing :)
ahhhh dark depths. Its a legendary land that has 10 ice counters and if they are all removed from it, put a 20/20 flying legendary creature in play. Now there is vampire hexmage that removes all counters from target permanent by sacing it and costs 2 black! you could do that first turn if you have the right hand.
that hand is double chrome mox, dark depth, hexmage and two black cards ... not exactly likely but yes it can happen.
sure that works too if your on the draw. i used the example above because it is the one you might see in a tournament. since you said you dont play tournaments in another post, this opens up several other options for turn one dark depth. Lotus Petal is a nice addition to such a deck since you can also use it if your going first instead of the cavern for instance.
I'm finding it more optimal to open up with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth into either Duress or Thoughtseize and then dropping Dark Depths turn two into a Hexmage. But that's just me.
sure that is more optimal to take away a potential path to exile or swords etc. but that is something you do not face that regularly in casual. for dark depth outside of casual goning turn 1 marit-lage is asking for trouble.
