whats makes a type 2 mtg card?
Standard (used to be called type 2), is the 2 most current blocks and the 1 most recent core set.
As of now the current standard sets are...
Core Set - (Magic 2010)
Alara Block - (Shards of Alara, Conflux, Alara Reborn)
Zendikar Block - (Zendikar, Worldwake, "Prosper")
On a side note... If you're wondering about the "Prosper" all magic sets use code names until they are officially announced.
Zendikar was Live
Worldwake was Long
and then there is Prosper....
So "Live long and prosper" from Star Trek.
The next block after Zendikar is currently code named "Lights" with the sets being
"Lights"
"Camera"
"Action"
"Lights, camera aaaannnnnddddd ACTION!!" from movie sets
After "Lights" is.... "Shake" block, with sets code named...
"Shake"
"Rattle"
"Roll"
"Shake, rattle and roll" it's a song for all of you too young to remember.
