is zoo going to be playable post rotation?

I think it could be ok but there are going to be ALOT of creature based decks around now. So only the best and most consistant will be able to survive.

Vampire
Merfolk
Ramp
Goblin

My initial outlook on the meta game is there are going to be so many aggro decks that a couple of tight control decks are sure to surface and be very dominate as well.

Combo decks don't tend to function well in a heavy aggro environment simply because they don't have time to establish. Heck control is going to have a serious run for it's money these days.

one thing control does not like at all is the near total lack of instant speed card draw and the much poorer quality of couters these days. since that did not stop 5-color control to take the pro tour it probably wont stop it post rotation do be good. the control mages do however loose cryptic with no adequat replacement so that hurts ... we'll have to wait and see.

as for combo ... i agree with your point at least in standard. in eternal formats agros lack of disruption usualy gives combo an autowin because there combo is a lot faster than agro. but that is just not true for standard.
