What products will be worth the cost in this set? I don't like to get boosters our fat packs unless I see some sort of profitable outcome. What do you think will be popular in commons and un? What rates are you looking at?

There does seem to be a lot of value. Abrupt Decay, Vraska the Unseen, Loxodon Smiter, Dreadbore - and of course, shocks.

The prices of the shocks will drop when the set releases, because they're be far easier to get.

What are shocks exactly, the card "Shock", or something else?

The dual lands. People call them "shocklands" or just "shocks" because that's what they do - Shock you to play them untapped.
