MBS Trade involving Tezzeret - should I do it or not?

My friend wants to trade:

HIS
1x Thrun, the Last Troll
1x Praetor's Counsel
4x Knowledge Pool

for MY:
1x Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas

Should I go ahead with the trade or not? I do want Thrun pretty bad but dont want to give up my Planeswalker unless trade is worth it

Well, let's play the values game. This is based on prices found at magiccards.info:

Thrun: $18
Praetor's Counsel: $2
Knowledge Pool: <$1, so 4 would probably sell for $2 or $3

Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas: $30

So, you're losing value here. I wouldn't do it unless you really need that Thrun, or unless you can get him to throw in another $8-10 worth of value.

ok thanks, is Praetor's Counsel really worth so little? Figured it was worth more since its a mythic rare?

I agree with Kenji, and since he is trading up you want the value of cards he is offering to be slightly in your favor (since he is trading some "cheaper" cards for your very valuable card)

I wouldnt do that trade... I expect Tezzeret to go up in value, I'd hold on to it (unless maybe if he adds $10-$15 worth of cards)

what about the Thrun, wont that go up in value as well?
