    It depends what you want the deck to be. Some decks need only one colour, others play all five. There is no "right" answer to that.

    The dragon is right as usual. It's the kind of thing you have to learn as you go unless you have and experienced player designing your decks for you.

    You could start by making mono-color decks - one of each color. Learn the color's strengths and weaknesses as well as which color you prefer. Then try a two color deck - the mana base is simple. Once you start getting into three-five color decks, the mana base gets trickier but you'll be ready for it by then.

    Or you can just dive right in and see what happens.
