whats the minimum deck size in a magic deck
60 cards
Does that include lands?
Yes. Note that that's for constructed decks - limited has a minimum of 40.

"limited has a minimum of 40" is probably confusing to someone who probably doesn't understand the formats.

Did I miss any that was just off the top of my head and the info I could give.
I personally never play with more than 50 cards because I like to get everything and be able to pay for everything when I play MTG...
If that's the case, you're playing with an illegal deck (depending on house rules that might be fine, but don't try entering any tournaments with it).

Arix, I don't play in tournaments...there is this Premier Store that I go to a lot in Ottawa that focuses only on massive casual magic playing...there are always lots of tables set up with people playing crazy illegal decks...I just find MTG to be more fun when you let loose and really get crazy...it's always a party at this place...lots of illegal infinity stuff always comes out too...I have to keep on the ball...all 30+ of us are going to hell hahah...we're all pretty crazy maniacs anyway...the place is licensed for alcohol as well as being a store that sells a lot of Magic: The Gathering...so, I only play casual MTG...I have a pretty retarded illegal deck though...yeah, I'm a badass....

Don't get me wrong - I'm a strictly casual player as well, for exactly the same reason. Just saying is all.

Yeah, I know Arix...but my opinion is that is you already have everything that you want to put into a deck at a certain number of cards that is above 40-45 cards, then there really shouldn't be a problem...why try to put in filler...I hate that idea...if you have a basic concept in a deck and don't need anymore and just want a tight and fast deck, then I personally don't care if you have a deck that is below 50 cards and above 40 cards...the Eventide: Sidestep decks for example...I've seen someone playing with an Eventide: Sidestep deck that had 40-45 cards in it...it is illegal I know, but I only play casual...I have legal decks though...
I usually find it hard to cut down to 60, actually. Then again, I play a lot of stupid combos, which often require the combo itself, ways to find it, ways to protect it, ways to defend myself before I have it, and a plan B in case something goes wrong, so...yeah.

Yeah I also play casual and I mostly play 60 card decks (a few times decks more then 60) but never less, because well thats the rules. Of course if you are playing casual you can make house rules and play with however number of cards you like, but I think its a good discipline to stick to minimum of 60
