no. they are two seperate things. exile is the new term for "remove from game". destroy is what happens because of enough damage to a creature and because of all effects that say "destroy". you can regenerate a destroy effect (unless the card says otherwise) and indestructable stuff ignores destroy (and only destroy so exile will work)
