IN MAGIC CAN SOMETHING INDESTRUCTIBLE BE DESTROYED?
Fluttershy is best pony.
..What? "Indestructible" has the exact definition of cannot be destroyed.. Why would you ask this question?
Here, first, the exact English definition of the word, from the dictionary:
And then, its definition as far as the rules of Magic go:in·de·struc·ti·ble (nd-strkt-bl)
adj.
Impossible to destroy
As you can see, the word "indestructible" retains its precise English meaning in terms of how it works in Magic. If you want to deal with an indestructible creature, you have to do so with something other than lethal damage or destroy effects. For example:700.4. If a permanent is indestructible, rules and effects can’t destroy it. (See rule 701.6, “Destroy.”)
Such permanents are not destroyed by lethal damage, and they ignore the lethal-damage state-based
action (see rule 704.5g). Rules or effects may cause an indestructible permanent to be sacrificed, put
into a graveyard, or exiled.
- Exiling it (Swords to Plowshares, etc.)
- Returning it to its owner's hand or library (Unsummon, Condemn, etc.)
- Causing it to be sacrificed, as sacrificing is not destruction
- Reducing its toughness to 0 or less, causing it to be placed in the graveyard -- not destroyed (Dismember, Black Sun's Zenith
Does that make it clear enough? You essentially asked the question, "can something which cannot be destroyed, be destroyed?" And the answer, predictably, is "no." You'll have to get rid of it some other way, as described above.
Obvious troll is obvious.
I HAVE A CAPS BUTTON TOO!!!
its not always obvious because for example day of judgment can destroy a protection from white even though day of judgement is white
But protection has absolutely nothing to do with indestructibility. Protection from white does not mean it can't be destroyed by a white source.
