Yup. If a card refers to other cards like itself (like a black creature referring to black creatures), you count the card itself unless it specifically states "other black creatures".

You give him both. The first resolves, sees that he controls more creatures than you, and goes over to his side. Then the second resolves, sees that he definitely has more creatures than you, and goes over to his side as well.
