Yes, counterspells use the stack and need to wait to resolve just like any other spell.

also u could counter the counter thats countering the counterspell

like if you cast counterspell and other player casts counterspell to counter yours, you then cast another counterspell and counter his counterspell so your original counterspell goes throught (unless he plays yet another counterspell) i hope this isnt too complicated
