Default Re: how to use a planeswalker

you play a planswalker like any other spell. when no one counters it you put it on the battlefield the same way you put creatures and artifacts on the battlefield. also you put a number of counters on it equal to its loyality. the loyality of a planeswalker is the number in the bottom right corner of the card.

now you have a planeswalker in play. you can now start using his abilitys. planeswalke have three abilitys. the number befor the ability tells you how many loyality counter using that ability will cost or give to the planeswalker. you can use the abilitys of a planeswalker only on your turn and only when you could play a sorcery. you can also only use 1 of the planeswalkers abilitys per turn and only once per turn. if an ability costs loyality counters but the plainswalker does not have enough counters you can not use that ability untill it has enough counters.

when the counters on a planeswalker ever reach zero it is imidiately put into your graveyard without any player being able to react to that.

when someone attacks you or deal damage to you directly he/she can choose to deal that damage to the planeswalker insted. when a planeswalker takes damage you remove a number of loyality counter from ti equal to the damage.

i hope that answered all you questions. if any are still open let me know.
