Why is black ritual good? magic

I've seen people talking on black ritual and how it is good and shouldnt be reprinted but I dont get it? You have to pay mana to get mana? plus you get mana of the same color? so whats so great about it so it cannot be reprinted?

You pay one mana to get three mana. That's what's so good about it.

Refer to a recent game I had in which I played two Dark Rituals into a turn one Kagemaro, First to Suffer - and, all things considered, that's a rather weak use of Dark Ritual.
