Default Wither vs. Shroud + Indestructable

Right, I got a friend that thinks shroud blocks wither ability, even though the ability is puts -1/-1 counters as damage.
Am I right to saying Wither still goes through because it is not a "target" creature ability?

Secondly, Wither vs. Indestructable, lets say fatal damage is dealt in -1/-1 counters, doesn't go away. Does that creature die from -1/-1 counters if there are enough on it?

Just want to know because a friend of mine is making a deck using the combination of Shroud and Indestructable on a Platinum Angel to stop people winning...

    Cheers,

You're right. Wither doesn't target anything, ans a creature with shroud can still be dealt damage. All wither does is change the outcome of that damage.

And yes, an indestructible creature will die like that. having 0 toughness doesn't destroy a creature - it just puts it straight into its owner's graveyard. Indestructiblity and regeneration don't stop that.
