HeroClix Mastermind Ability

Whats a good way to use the HeroClix Mastermind power?

You place lots of lackeys around your more important HeroClix mastermind figure, and then you just channel the damage to those lackeys. That way you can keep your Masterminder alive and instead destroying some lackeys which you can spare to lose.

I Think A Good Way To Do This Would To Add A Character That Has A DMG Reducing Power Like Toughness, Invulnerability, Or Impervious, All DMG It Takes Is Reduced. Since The Rules For Those Powers Don't Define That DMG Reduced Has To Be An Attack, I Think It Would Work, Correct Me If I'm Wrong.
