Default HeroClix Rules: What is the difference between Flying and Soaring

    Hi all,

New to the game, and also to these forums. Am learning the game by myself so that I can play it at the gaming club next week.

What the difference is between flying and soaring?

    thanks

Characters that can fly have 2 different modes: Hovering or Soaring. When you hover its like you are flying near the ground. You can ignore effects of hindering terrain on movement, and move between elevations.

With soaring its like you are flying high in the sky. You dont have to break away (except from other soaring characters) and you can only attack other soaring characters. Non soaring characters can still target you, but their range is halved.

You indicate a character is soaring by moving the flight indicator up.

I forgot to mention that it costs 1 movement speed to change from hovering to soaring and vice versa

Just to add to what CastleKing said, you still need to break away from collosal and giant characters.
