Can Someone Explain "Exploit Weakness"?

Sorry if this is already on the boards somewhere. I used the search feature but didn't yield positive results.

The definition of Exploit Weakness is: "Give this character a close combat action. Damage from this attack is penetrating damage."

I don't understand what penetrating damage is. Can someone please explain how this works?

It means that it ignores powers that reduce damage like toughness and invulnerability. so for example toughness usually reduces damage taken by 1, but if the attacking clix has exploit weakness then the toughness wont work.

yeah basically it means that the damage cannot be reduced

This Also Means That Exploit Weakness Has No Effect On Super Senses, Right?

Thats correct, with super senses if you roll 5 or 6 you evade the attack completely so no damage is done even if attacker has exploit weakness

That Also Would Include Shape Change As Well, Right?
