    Default Doll Collecting Acronyms

I think it would be useful to have a Doll collecting dictionary, because I noticed in some other forum that people didn't know what was "NRFB" meant (I think NRFB is a term specifically taken from the Doll Collecting world?)

So post here Doll collecting acronyms and doll collecting terms to help both new and experienced doll collectors alike. I hope this grows to be a very extensive dolls dictionary.

I'll start with some that I can think of now:

NRFB - Never Removed from Box. This is the best condition for the doll to be in.

DOTW - Dolls of the World. A Barbie Dolls Series by Mattel featuring dolls of different nationalities

Limited Edition Dolls - dolls that were produced in a limited number of quantities and so are generally more valuable.

These ones might not be specific to doll collectors, but are universally used in the collecting world:

    NIB: New in Box
    MIB: Mint in Box
    NM: Near Mint
    M/NM: Mint, Near Mint

Thanks those are useful ones to know.

Also if anyone has a question about what a specific doll collecting term or Doll Collecting acronym means you can ask here and we will try to answer if we know

    Also remembered these two:

    MOC: Mint on Card
    MIP: Mint in Package

These 2 means basically the same as MIB

Some collectors might use the term:

    MIMB: Mint in Mint Box

Means that both the doll and box are mint.
