Default Difference between NRFB and NIB? Difference between NRFB and MIB?

    Hi,

I am new to doll collecting and had a question:

So I know NRFB means Never Removed From Box, NIB means New in Box, and MIB means Mint in Box. But they all sound like if they are describing the same condition, what is the difference between the 3?

    Thank you

That's a good question. Though you will find that these terms are sometimes used interchangeably, there are differences:

NFRB - Never removed from box. So a doll that is NFRB should have never been removed from the package and handled with hands.

NIB - I think this is like NFRB. Some collectors though might use this term if the doll was removed from box once or twice but is still in new like condition.

MIB - Mint in box. This might imply that the doll was taken out of the box several times, but is still in mint condition

    Hope this helps

There's also MIP (Mint in Package) or MOC (Mint on Card) which are the same as MIB
