Same thing happened to me!
When I returned to my car this afternoon after being at the doctor's there was a small dent near the front driver door. I am 100% sure it wasn't there before, because I happened to wash the car this morning, and I would have noticed it if it was there.
For a dent this small I dont even want to bother with the police or insurance. Is there some way I can fix this myself? I recall seeing commercials to all sorts of products which supposedly can help with body repair?
Here is what should be done if you hit a parked car:
1) Attempt to locate the owner
2) If owner not found, leave a note on windshield with phone number, DL number, and insurance information
3) Call to Report to the police, to be on the safe side
Are you referring to Paintless Dent Removal tools? Like these ones:
Paintless Dent Removal Kit (LTI820)
Dent Fix PK100 - Paintless Dent Repair Glue Puller Kit
PBE 9SM 1001 - steel mountain paintless 22pc dent repair tool kit
So do do I have to pay deductible when my car was hit on parking lot and theres no witnesses?
if you hit a car with no damage and leave will you go to jail?
And what do you have to do if you WITNESS a car hitting a parked car, then driving off?
And what do you have to do if you WITNESS a car hitting a parked car, then driving off?First: Read over the posts in the thread.yes where do you report a parking lot hit do you have to call 911 or is there some special phone number for this?
Second: Get their Tag Number if you can along with the Vehicle Make&Model.
Third: Call you local Highway Patrol or Sheriffs Office. The general rule for calling 911 is either Dying or Gushing Blood.
I found a dent yesterday in my car but to be honest there's the possibility I caused the dent last week when I backed out improperly from the garage (though I though I didnt notice the dent then)
if i bring my car to the police do you know if they have some sort of expert that can determine whether someone hit me
I think a body shop would be more appropriate if you want to determine whether your car was hit by another car, I don't think police will assign an "expert" for this...
But once you get an opinion from the body shop you should call your insurance agent and ask him what your next steps should be...
how can police find a hit and run driver if there were no witnesses?
My car (2004 Volkswagen Jetta) had over $1,000 damage to its side a few years ago under similar circumstances (car hit, no note left, parking lot, etc)
Police never found who did it
The very least if you hit a parked car leave your details and insurance information thats what people have insurance for
