sony ericsson z750a won't turn on

Having problems with my AT&T sony ericsson z750a cellphone.

It won't turn on and won't charge. When I plug it in to the charger, instead of saying "charging..." there is this red light. I also feel a small vibration a second later. Then nothing.

I called AT&T and they said I am out of the warranty period so they wont send me a replacement.

Any idea what could be causing this?

That's weird, I pressed and held the red power button on for like 10 secs and it says charging but the charge meter is not moving. And not only that, but when I take the charger out it still says charging? Had to take the battery out to lose that message... will try again
