Default Commodore 64 or Commodore 128?

Reading all these posts in this forum brought forth nice memories from my childhood playing Commodore 64 Games. So I decided to buy a Commodore again and play some of those old school games.

    I can either buy a C64, or a C128. When I was a kid I had a C64. On the other hand, I understand that a C128 is a bit better?

I only have the room/money to buy one of these, which would you recommend?

Depends on what you are going to do with it

If it's just gaming, the C64 would be first choice. If you want to use CP/M or Geos I guess the C128 would be the right one.

And in times of cheap memory, the 1541 Ultimate might be of some interest. Ok, not that cheap as the SD-Cards, but worth every $cent

I agree with Zorch, if it's just for gaming then you should just go for the Commodore 64.

Also since that's the machine you said you had as a kid, I guess you'll be more familiar with it then the C128.

Either way, even if you get a Commodore 128, you can still play Commodore 64 games by switching to C64 mode (in which the C128 basically simulates the C64)

    Thanks for the feedback

in the end I decided to go with the Commodore 128, since its more powerful and I want to try out a system I didn't have before (plus like you said, I can play all the Commodore 64 games on it anyway)

I have both of them, I usually play on the Commodore 128 in C64 mode.
