    Post Commodore 64 Text Adventures?

Anyone here also enjoyed playing text adventures on the C64?

For those who do not know, text adventures are - like it sounds - games that had only text in them, no visuals (though there were some with still images too). You would type in commands in English words, for example "Go West" or "Look at map".

It was more like reading a book, except you chose what to do. Like a Choose your Own Adventure book, but a lot more open ended. You could use and pick up stuff. They all had mysteries or puzzles of sort.

One of my favorites was one called pirate adventure, I think that was the one that I completed first. I'll post more titles I played as soon as I remember them, there were many cool ones

I love text based adventures! I used to play them a lot. Maybe even more then the "normal" graphic games. A very good way to excercise your imagination.

One of the first games I played was called "Adventureland" . I think it was one of the first text adventures. I really enjoyed it and that got me started on more text based games

I personally hated those games too frustrating. Whenever I would get stuck I would start typing curse words in. At least that kept me entertained for a while.

So I guess these games are not for everyone, especially those not known for their patience (like me)

I also really liked the text adventures. One of my favorites was called Wishbringer by Infocom, it had a cool story and was not that hard to beat, puzzles and humor were great too

I remember a text adventure game called Deadline, by Infocom. It was a mystery game. Very good stories with lots of leads and clues (including false clues) which kept me very intrigued in all of the story

My favorite text adventure game was called Dragonworld (Published by Telarium). It was based on a book with the same title, by Byron Preiss and Michael Reaves. Very engaging story.

My favorite C64 text adventure was The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Infocom, since it was based on one of my favorite Science Fiction books.

The game itself was very fun and clever, it had many good puzzles, mysteries and locations, and it understood and responded to a rich variety of text commands.

My favorite text game for the C64 was a game called "The Tracer Sanction" by Activision.

It was a graphic text adventure.

Game had some great challenges and nice art.

I found the names of the games I was looking for:

    African Adventure
    Pirate Adventure
    King Tuts Tomb

These were pretty cool text adventures.

The Pawn was absolutely amazing (had still graphics, very good graphics but just stills)
and for pure text I always loved Wizard's Casyle (I think the misspelling is on purpose, but not sure as it's been at least 15 years!)
