Gear All data present in the emulated RAM will be lost?

Hi I am in the 102 module and I have set up the VICE emulator for Commodore 64 successfully and I see the Commodore BASIC screen, but when I want to close it I get:

Do you really want to exit?

All the data present in the emulated RAM will be lost.

What does that mean? is there an extra step I am missing before exiting?

    Ignore that message for now.

Basically it means that if you had written any BASIC programs, they would be lost upon exiting.

In later modules you will learn how to save your programs to permanent storage.
