Default are pen and paper tabletop rpg dying?

are pen and paper tabletop rpgs dieing?

It seems more and more people would rather play MMORPGs then play the old-fashioned pen & paper RPGs.

I used to play D&D tabletop with a group of 8 people, now its down to 4 because the others are busy playing video games and MMORPGs

    Anyone feel the same?

    Yes and no, Taunting Elf.

I've lost more than few friends to the boredom money vacuum that is WoW.
I also miss playing D&D or Vampre: The Masquerade, but more so for the social aspect.
I think alot of it has to do with getting older and convenience, some folk may feel silly sitting around pretending to be a Dwarven Cleric and some may just find sittiing at the PC easier than shaping their schedules to keep up with the game.

Although the new D&D Online is great, give me a Great DM who can adjust things on the fly to keep me from sneaking out the Evil alighment he/she said I couldnt have anyday .
