They were discovered years ago, probably in the archeological ruins of Shar-i-Sokhta in what is now Iran. I bought them from an Iranian collector included with many strings of archeological artifacts that he had collected over the years. The carnelian intaglio bead is one of a kind in all the world. I was very happy to discover it among all the other beads.
