Pokemon Black White Walkthrough Part 44 – The Pokemon League And The Elite Four
Welcome to the beginning of the Pokemon League Challenge. Here you will need to take on all of the Elite Four and the Champion in a single struggle. The layout of the Pokemon League is very simple at least. You will find the Pokemon Center and Mart to the left. Stop in and heal up your team as well as stock up on recovery items (Hyper/Max Potions, Revives, Full Restores etc). Once you are ready, approach the person standing in the center.
Before starting into the League Challenge be sure that the majority of your team is at lvl. 50 or above. You will also want a good variety of types and attacks. Take advantage of the information here to build something of a strategy in advance.
The Elite Four are presented in a different fashion compared to every other version of Pokemon. There are four trainers that you need to beat to progress on to the Champion but they can be dealt with in whatever order that you choose. The rules remain the same though, where you cannot leave the Elite Four until you have defeated them all.
Starting from the Far Left and progressing over to the right:
Room 1: Shauntal
Full Restores: 2
Confagrigus lvl. 48 – Mummy
Psychic, Shadow Ball, Grass Knot, Will-O-Wisp
Chandelure lvl. 50 – Flame Body
Shadow Ball, Psychic, Fire Blast, Payback
Golurk lvl. 48 – Iron Fist
Curse, Shadow Punch, Earthquake, Brick Break
Jellicent lvl. 48 – Cursed Body
Shadow Ball, Surf, Energy Ball, Brine
The Ghost Type Specialist is something of a good start most of the time. Still, a solid Dark Type Pokemon can be devastating to her team. The same can be said for a good Special Attacker with a strong Ghost or Dark Type move.
Room 2: Grimsley
Full Restores: 2
Scrafty lvl. 48 – Moxie
Sand-Attack, Crunch, Poison Jab, Brick Break
Bisharp lvl. 50 – Defiant
Aerial Ace, Night Slash, X-Scissor, Metal Claw
Krookodile lvl. 48 – Intimidate
Crunch, Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Foul Play
Liepard lvl. 48 – Limber
Fake Out, Aerial Ace, Night Slash, Attract
Against Grimsley you will find that Fighting Moves and other attacks strong against Dark Types will ensure a quick victory. The Liepard will reliably start with Fake Out so either use a higher priority move or use an item to burn that turn
Room 3 – Caitlin
Full Restores: 2
Reuniclus lvl. 48 – Magic Guard
Psychic, Thunder, Energy Ball, Focus Blast
Sigilyph lvl. 48 – Wonder Skin
Ice Beam. Shadow Ball, Psychic, Air Slash
Musharna lvl. 48 – Synchronize
Shadow Ball, Psychic, Charge Beam, Reflect
Gothitelle lvl. 50 – Frisk
Calm Mind, Thunder Bolt, Psychic, Shadow Ball
Caitlin is the mandatory Psychic User of the Elite Four. You will find that Ghost and Dark Type attacks can sweep the field. Just keep in mind the Synchronize ability of the Musharna.
Marshal
Full Restores: 2
Throh lvl. 48 – Guts
Bulldoze, Payback, Stone Edge, Stone Throw
Mienshao lvl. 50 – Inner Focus
Rock Slide, U-Turn, Retaliate, Jump Kick
Sawk lvl. 48 – Sturdy
Stone Edge, Karate Chop, Retaliate, Grass Knot
Conkeldurr lvl. 48 – Sheer Force
Stone Edge, Hammer Arm, Grass Knot, Retaliate
With all Fighting Types, Psychic and Flyers can destory his team, easily. Still, they have some interesting twist. If possible, try to OHKO the Sawk and get Marshal to burn through both his Full Restores so you don't have to worry about them later in the battle. Do not status the Throh as its Guts ability boosts its attack power when it has a status.
Once you have beat all of the Elite Four, a new portal will appear around the center statue. You will want to walk into that light and interact with the statue to be taken to the Champion's area. Don't worry about your team, things are going to get interesting.
