An article on the panel hosted on the new re-imagining of the classic "The Three Musketeers". This is the first one in 3D.

Logan Lerman Three Musketeers

While many panels get a few people from both cast and crew, there are still panels where you find yourself faced with just the actors. In the case of "The Three Musketeers", this was not a bad thing. Paul W.S. Anderson, of Resident Evil Fame, and one of the leading directors in the use of 3D shooting took on this challenge. The panel itself showed us some exclusive footage of the Musketeers first meeting the young D'Artagnan.

After that, the panelists were introduced, Luke Evans who plays D'Artagnan and Logan Lerman who plays Aramis. The panel itself kicked off immediately after that with a question to Evans with what training was involved. He admitted there was daily training for the fencing scenes in the movie. That they never stopped working at it as Anderson and much of the cast wanted to do their own stunts as much as possible. He liked that he was working with Anderson though to be shooting a 3D movie. He also commented that he had a number of great fights during the movie but said that he had likely the longest fight at 130 points for the fencing match. He commented that it was a close match as well when it came to a close. He told us that all sparks we witness in the movie are from the swords themselves crossing. It was hard work for him

Luke took the panel for a moment to explain that he enjoyed it as well. They were able to enjoy seeing some of their work immediately thanks to Avatar technology. This let them see the results, in 3D shortly after the scenes were shot. He spoke a bit about his character, Aramis. He liked the former Priest to a 16th century James Bond, a dark broody man who is part Batman, part Terminator and part Ninja.

While the panel questions were short, there was a fair bit of time for the Questions and Answers. Luke got the first, asking about his influence for the character. Luke explained that he wanted to make the character his own and felt that was the best way. He explained that this movie was more aimed at the origins of the Musketeers themselves.

Logan got the next question about getting into acting. He explained that it is a hard goal but very attainable. it required a lot of tenacity and that you should not fear rejection while auditioning. He also warned that it could be very draining going through the process of auditioning.

Not too long after, they were asked if there will be a sequel, if they would return to their roles. Both answered they would. Just after, they were asked if there were any accidents on the set. They admitted to some cuts and bruises. They also teased the audience for wanting to hear about possible fatalities on the set. Everyone broke out laughing at that point.

The next question asked had an interesting response. Both Logan and Luke were asked what set their version of the Three Musketeers apart from the many other versions of it. Logan immediately comment on how he was the actual age of his character after so many who had played it were "middle-aged men". he saw the Musketeers as the SEALS of their time. Luke added in that it was important for each generation to have their own version of "The Three Musketeers". He saw it akin to Shakespeare's many classic plays, that the source material is just so rich and usable.

The panel concluded with them discussing working with the cast of Orlando Bloom and Milla Jovovich. Logan said it was an honor and it did him a lot of good to work with such talent. It was impressive for them to see those two running around for their stunts, especially Jovovich. It was something apparently to see her doing as much stunt work as she did. The panel was a treat to learn more about the upcoming movie.
