Zinzolin vanishes then, and Drayden reappears in front of his Gym, complimenting you on your strength and thanking you- and your pokemon- for the help.  He also offers healing for your team by way of his thanks, and then vanishes into his Gym for a moment.  He grumbles about how he’s just set a new record for ‘making it there and back’ (?) and then shows you the Splicers.  He explains to you that he’s grateful Plasma G was unable to secure the items.

Naturally, this is when a member of the Shadow Trio shows up, acknowledging that this is just what was expected- the Splicers were in the Gym, where Team Plasma can’t get in if Drayden isn’t there- and has to try to get past him if he is there.  This also would explain the remodeling of the Gym itself.  The ninja then brushes that off as inconsequential- as they now have the Splicers....?

Drayden is staggered by the idea that the Shadow Trio would use one of the Seven Sages to discover the Splicers’ location- but the secretive member of the Shadow Trio points out that they want to achieve their goal regardless of what is needed.  And, being as they are, the Shadow Trio don’t have the people skills to convince others of things as N used to do.  Therefore, they operate through might, forcing others to do as they want.

The other two of the Shadow Trio appear to the East from you and Drayden, and then all three run off into the frozen-over town.  The Gym Leader’s response is to declare that the Splicers will just have to be taken back, if they’ve been stolen.  He heads South after the first member of the Shadow Trio.

You should head West, towards the Route 11 gate.  One of the Shadow Trio waits near it, and attacks you when you close in on him.
