The brunette turns to you and apologizes for rambling, and asks you to bring this up with Drayden as well- then calls on Bianca to help her out with some fieldwork.

The elder professor leaves to the south, but Bianca stops to talk to you a moment more.  She explains to you that Opelucid's mayor, Drayden, wrestles with his pokemon 'to toughen them up'.  After this slightly disturbing revelation, she hustles off after her mentor.

This leaves you free to meander around Lacunosa, so it's time to explore.

Heading up the stairs behind the old woman's house and then to the right up some more stairs brings you to an empty building where you can pick up a Metronome.  This hold item slightly boosts the attack power of a move each time the move is used after the first, so it can be very powerful on a pokemon with a move that few things resist (for instance, a single-turn Dragon or Water attack) or that has the durability to stick around for a long time without having to use its turn to heal itself.  However, pokemon that have the durability or time in battle to really make use of it are few and far between.

The house next to the old lady's has nothing interesting, and the only other noteworthy thing on the raised road is a vending machine.

The Southeast corner of town holds the Pokemon Center, where a Psychic will not battle you, but will tell you which pokemon you had in your team when you earned each of your badges.

Heading West from the Pokemon Center will result in you running across Hugh.  He mentions that he heard Team Plasma was somewhere around here, and asks if you've seen any of them at all.
