Head to the right end of the row to catch the attention of another trainer....

Battle: School Kid Alberta (700 Poke)
Opponent: Litwick Lv 35

...and pick up the TM for Will-O-Wisp.  Will-O-Wisp is a handy Fire move that inflicts a burn, though it does nothing else and its accuracy is a touch shaky.  This is very powerful, as the only things immune to burns either have Water Veil or are Fire-types themselves, so it’s hard to wind up with the move being unexpectedly ineffective.  Since a burn cuts the burnt pokemon’s attack in half as well as dealing damage every turn, it’s a great way to cut into the attack strength of physical fighters- just be wary of Guts, which negates the loss of attack, doubling it instead.  On the up side, most of those pokemon are Fighting types, and Will-O-Wisp is very accessible to Ghost pokemon, which can’t be touched by Fighting moves.  Don't discount the value of the burn's damage either- or that it can be used in a double or triple battle to trigger Guts or Flash Fire on your own pokemon.

Continue back another row and to the left to pick up an Ultra Ball lying on the floor, then step back another row and head right to run into another trainer.

Battle: Pokefan Jude (2240 Poke)
Opponent: Clefairy Lv 35

Clefairy may not look like much, particularly since it's lost some of its more annoying low-level moves by level 35, but make no mistake- it's still a remarkably tough Normal-type.

With Jude out of the way, it’s time to head up to the next floor.  This time you start at the back of the floor, so head forwards one row and step left to take on your first battle of this level.
