In amongst the grass you can find a hiker...
Battle: Backpacker Ivan (600 Poke)
Opponent: Watchog Lv 25
Be very wary of this Watchog. Some of your pokemon are likely to be yet unevolved, and this thing uses Confuse Ray, Hypnosis, and Super Fang in ways that will mutilate them.
To the left of Ivan is a Cut tree, behind which you can grab a Heal Ball. These pokeballs have a standard capture rate, making them unreliable without severely injuring the pokemon you want to catch- but a pokemon caught by one is instantly brought to full health. The effect never recurs, but it can be very nice if you caught something you want or need to use right away. To the right of him, you can find a path that leads to the Lostlorn Forest, where there are a number of interesting catch options.
Depending on your game you can catch Cottonee (Black 2) or Petlil (White 2), but there are also Swadloon and Venipede here.
From older games you have Combee, a Bug/Flying whose females evolve into the formidable Vespiqueen, a surprising all-around powerhouse whose only real weakness is her typing (still Bug/Flying). Vespiqueen makes a great staple for your team as long as you keep her away from Rock pokemon, and can often handle Fire, Flying, Ice, and Electric pokemon that other Bug/Flying types just can’t ever really get past. This is partly due to stats and partly due to the potential combination of Defend Order (which boosts both defensive stats) and Heal Order (which restores half her HP). You can also find Roselia here, which evolve into the powerful Roserade, a Grass/Poison pokemon with high Special Offense, good speed, and the unique ability to naturally learn Weather Ball without being Castform.
Finally, Black 2 players can find Heracross here, a mighty (if slow) Bug/Fighting pokemon whose potential Guts ability makes it even more of a powerhouse, and the original user of Mega Horn (one of the earliest moves to really terrify Psychic pokemon). White 2 players will instead find Pinsir, the less-popular of the two old Safari Zone bugs, which is a monstrous physical attacker with decent speed and protection from physical attacks, but absolutely no ability to cope with special attackers. Still, in it’s niche Pinsir is a rather rough equivalent for Kingler, being immensely effective against the right opponents. These pokemon are all levels 21-24.
