System: Playstation 3
Title: Little Big Planet 2
Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment
Circa: 2011

Intro
If there is one game that is all about creativity, it is not any title on the Wii, but Little Big Planet on the PS3. The game has a very distinct charm born from it's yarn-woven mascot, cardboard-ish backgrounds and charming music.

Story
Negativitron has been going at the creative universe of Little Big Planet. Your Sack Person is recruited by the “Alliance” by Larry Di Vinci. You will transverse the various levels fighting off the Negaitivtron. You will need to rescue Sackbots and solve many puzzles to prevail in the name of the Alliance!

Gameplay
The basic of gameplay are simple. All you will be doing is running, jumping and grabbing. Occasionally you will get a special item you use with R1 like the Cakeinator or the Paintinator. A lot of the game is playing around with Physics and getting the result your after. Some times you will need to remember that the only way to do something is to take advantage of grabs, speed and a few tweaks to the surrounds.

From the first game, the studio saw over two million user made levels emerge. With a ranking system for these created levels, it would be easy for people to find the better made levels. The second game hosts an ever more diverse suite for level creation. In this, you can actually build a completely different game inside it. The game boast a number of tutorials to explain the workings of things but not everything is covered with it. Somethings, you will need to figure out on your own.

Multiplayer
The game boast up to four players in one level. You can either work together to solve puzzles or play with each other and send the other sack folk into a blazing inferno, jelly, or a high voltage charge. A good way to put it is a competitively cooperative game. You still want to get the highest score while you need to help the other people in the level out.

Controls
The game controls at the most basic level are very simple. Moving around is done with the left thumb stick with jumping is handled with X and grabbing is done with R1. You also use R1 to use and special weapons or items that you have at your disposal.

Graphics
While the game seems very cartoony in its description, the graphics are amazingly well rendered. It is very easy to see the individual fibers woven to make the yarn that makes your sack person.

Sound Effects & Music
While there is plenty of voice support there it is the music that really makes the game for some people. For all the pre-made levels you will find the music fits to the theme of the level quite well (Fowl Play comes to mind specifically).

Obscurity
First, the game came out on January 18th 2011 and is part of the Playstation 3's most anticipated first party titles. This is not a title that will sit quietly in obscurity.

Summary/Author’s Take
This is a very enjoyable game if a number of challenging levels. Part of what makes the game though is simply the charm of it and the things that you see in the game. Anything that you see in the game can be made using the tools inside it. It is a great game to play with other people who aren't too into gaming but can enjoy a simple game once in a while.
