Tomb Raider Walkthrough Part 36 – No One Left Behind (Geothermal Caverns to Solarii Fortress)

At the top of the wall Lara will come across another ritual, this one seems to be the final part of the initiation. Time for more stealthy combat. Move up behind the first guard and take him down with a stealth kill. Take a moment to look up and to the right to find the final Sack for the Firestarter Challenge.

Now head along the waist-high wall to the left. You can wait through most of the ritual if you want to hear it. Otherwise just ignite a Fire Arrow and launch it into the Gas that is spewing into the room. This will clear virtually the whole thing of the Solarii that have gathered inside it. Now head on forward toward the Altar. On the left-hand side of the altar you will find another Document (Mathias: Lost), to complete the Diaries of a Madman set. Continue over to the left wade through the water to the right. This will lead into a small alcove to find the final relic of the area, an Inscribed Silk Fan. After that head back toward the Altar then take the stairs going up to the West. When you can head to the South to find an Orange Crate and next to it the final GPS Cache of the area. With that in hand turn to the North. You will see a Rope Target and a large swinging lantern. Hit the Rope Target with a Rope Arrow and let Lara yank it into its other position. After that move over to the Gas Valve and break it off using the Climbing Axe. Move over to the gate that is blocking your way and then shoot a Fire Arrow into the Gas steam you just released. This will blast the Brazier into the gate, breaking it down and clearing your way forward. Head on through. Keep going until the floor gives way. Just be sure that do not have the Fire Arrows equipped.

In this room the best and only thing to do is run straight on through and look for the climbable wall on the right at the far end. This will get Lara out of the gas before she chokes on it. Once she is out she will be reunited with the rest of the Crew from the Endurance. First, take out the guard who is patrolling to the right with a head shot. After that just pay attention to the rest of the guards and take them down quickly. If the spot Lara, which is very likely,. Just stay in cover and very quickly take out the 2 Sappers who are in the area. The rest just have Rifles so they are easier to deal with.

When the fight is over there is a Cutscene with the rest of the crew talking with Lara saying they need to get down so they can help her search for Sam and Whitman. Loot the bodies then head on over to the East and into the smaller area where you can see the counter weight to cage in place. You will notice to the right of it a gas valve. Pry the top off with the Climbing Axe and move back. Shoot a Fire Arrow into the gas to clear the counter weight so it can move freely.

With the debris cleared away another path leading farther up is revealed. Head past where you shot the gas and take the ramp up to the new platform. Jump onto it the cell, the helicopter, that your friends are being kept in. Head to the front of it and look over to the left. You will see Gas Vents leaking over there. The idea here is to hit each with a fire arrow in rapid succession. It can take a try or two to get it done right but when it works you will know. The Helicopter will buck and throw Lara off, Jonah will grab her, saving her from the flames.

Climb around the helicopter, catching Lara the one time she loses her grip. Get back on top of the helicopter. Time to jump to the Left to the nearby platform. Once on it pry loose the tops of the 2 gas vents. Head over to the left and duck behind the wall. Line up a Fire Arrow shot that will hit both the gas vents. This will blast the Helicopter firmly over to the far side of the cavern, letting everyone escape just before it goes plummeting into the magma below. Lara needs to escape herself now. Head North and jump across the 2 cages and climb up the planking. Just keep running up the stairs after that. Do not stop until you are free of the crumbling.
