Bianca tells the Professor that it’s very interesting in your area, where there are a lot of pokemon they weren’t sure were present a couple of years ago.  Juniper thanks Bianca for going all the way out there for the errand, and then asks Cheren how his new job is.  The black-haired boy says he’s glad Juniper is doing well, and tells her that the job is very difficult without his usual team.  Professor Juniper explains that providing a closer match will let him make his battles mean more to the challengers he faces, and tells him that everything will be fine.

Bianca points out that the four of you are performing very different roles as Professor, Trainer, Gym Leader, and Assistant, but you all have pokemon alongside you to help out and be your partners.  The Professor agrees, telling all three of you to keep in mind that yours is a world where you live with pokemon all the time as you pursue your various goals.  She also tells you that while the pokedex is important, you should make your journey your first priority.  With that, she ends the call.

Bianca gushes a bit about Professor Juniper, then tells you that you can call the Professor on the Xtransceiver to have her evaluate your Pokedex or just provide you with some information on Pokemon evolution.  She also says that you can call her to have her evaluate your relationships with your pokemon.  Cheren says that Bianca has a good idea, and offers to tell you what he knows about pokemon abilities and type matchups if you call him.

When he finishes talking, Hugh rushes up out of nowhere, and shouts that it’s time for a battle- Cheren doesn’t respond nearly as immediately, though, instead saying that Hugh looks tough and inviting him into the Gym.  Outraged, Hugh gets especially loud, calling Cheren’s reply ‘weak’ and declaring that he’s going to win the battle.

Looking on as the vitriolic boy charges headlong into the Gym, Bianca wonders at how hard Cheren’s job is.  She then turns her attention back to you and says she needs to ensure you can use the C-Gear.  This, she explains, is an important tool for connections via Infrared or Wi-Fi- and then gives it to you.  From here on out, the C-Gear interface (or at the very least its ‘on’ switch) will remain in your touchscreen when something else doesn’t need the space, keeping track of the time and various other things.
