Far Cry 3 Walkthrough Part 102 – Sidequests – Path of the Hunter

The Neck's Diner SMG Hunt: Bears
You are to hunt down 3 bears and kill them with the given SMG. Head to the Northeast to find the gear up location. Grab the SMG and head into the nearby woods.

Once again, Hunter's Instinct is your best friend for tracking down the bears initially. One is only a little ways into the forest, just behind the first trees in front of you. Move back and fire on it. It takes a few clips to take down a bear, even with head shots. The SMG really does not have good damage. With the first one down you need to move onto the second and third bear.

The second bear is over to the Northeast. It likes to roam behind the rock that you can see to the right. Head behind there and you should have little trouble finding it. More likely, it will find you and come charging.

The final bear is over to the North of where you find the second. Just follow the path and you will find it roaming around in the nearby area by the mouth of a cave. If you head into the depths of the cave it guards you can find a boar relic.

North Krieg Crest: Shotgun Hunt: Bears
A pair of bears have been feasting on the local population. Jason is to arm himself with a shotgun and go investigate this. Head to the Southwest to find the arming point. After that, follow the path over to the West and into the search area.

Once you begin looking for the bears use Hunter's Instinct to make your life a lot easier in terms of tracking. The first is just outside the mouth of the cave. Approach it carefully and give it a good number of blast aimed toward the torso or the head. Reload immediately after you kill it. After that look into the cave itself to find the second bear. Once again, aim for the head or torso to take it down quickly. Once you have downed them both, take a little time to skin them and make sure you are getting all the money you can by searching their cave for chests.
