Fallout New Vegas Walkthrough Part 2 – Back in the Saddle

Fallout New Vegas Walkthrough Part 2 – Back in the Saddle
While this is not part of the main quest, it is very helpful to complete these quest, even if you have played Fallout 3 or on your second playthrough of New Vegas. This gives you a good taste of the life in the Desert also just how things can be (also the quest is just fun to play through for all the kills you get in it).
Finding Sunny Smiles is very easy, just head straight east from the Doc's house to the Prospector Saloon. Take note of Easy Pete, who is just at the entrance of the Prospector Saloon, he'll be useful later. Immediately he is useful to learn about Hoover Dam, the Legion, NCR, Bighorners, and Victor. Head inside the saloon, where you will quickly encounter Sunny Smiles, the lady your are looking for. She will be with her dog, Cheyenne. Take some time and talk with her to learn about useful items (or just skip through it if you've heard it before). After that, ask for work, while she will tell you there is not any to be found in the town, she will suggest heading into the school building to get at the safe no one's been able to crack open just yet. She gives you some bobby pins and a skill magazine for lock picking. Tell her, after this, that Doc sent you here to learn about protecting yourself. She will then tell you to meet her behind the Saloon for some practice.
Follow Sunny outside, she will give you a varmint rifle, and ask you to shoot 3 sarsaparilla bottles from the fence. This is easy enough with just some time and aiming. You can't use VATS on the bottles as they are not alive. Shoot the bottles and she will congratulate you. Then she will ask you for some help clearing the water supply for the town of Geckos. Follow along with Sunny and Cheyenne to reach the water supply where you will encounter a few geckos. If she is moving faster than use, sheath your weapon to move more quickly.
Work with Sunny to clear them out using whatever weapon you feel works best. This is first “nest” she will ask if you'd like to help her clear the rest of the water supply. Agree to earn some money and get a little more ammunition for your varmint rifle. She will head off to the southwest towards Goodsprings Source, and hide behind a large rock formation. She will caution you to sneak up on this nest of Geckos. It's a tricky proposition to pull off but you can also use VATS or just aim carefully and shoot carefully. After dealing with this batch, there is a second nest that needs to be cleared out. If you can save the Settler being attacked by the Geckos she will award you with some purified water and fame with Goodsprings. You will get 50 caps for all your trouble. Be careful that you don't kill the Villager, the Dog or Sunny. VATS is great for that if you're a little iffy on your own aim.
