In order to complete Teng’s task, you’ll need to go beyond the orchard to the small island Southwest of it. There you can find Lin Applebloom by a camp full of barrels.... leaking barrels, being attacked by a huge lizard-beast that is only identified as ‘Koukou’. With Teng and his barrels along, you need to speak to Lin.
Lin thanks you for the barrels- but points out that there is more to worry about here. Koukou, apparently some kind of creature called a ‘Mushan’, has apparently lost whatever marbles he had and is trying to destroy the cider barrels. Lin says she’s tried every verbal method she can think of, and gotten no response. Sadly, it appears he no longer retains any ability to listen or heed, so she asks that you do what seems to be necessary- kill the poor beast.
Koukou mostly presents you with three things. The first is a pretty respectable heap of damage. While it’s not enough to be terribly worrying, you can’t just lollygag around in this fight and expect to come out alright. The second thing is a debuff- every so often, Koukou will roar and generate a circle of eerie glow- this glow creates the ‘Self-doubt’ debuff, which will decrease the damage you deal. Finally, shortly after each ‘self-doubt’ roar, Koukou will hit you with an especially hard strike that sends you flying a short distance. This mostly is an inconvenience for melee combatants, as otherwise it doesn’t really do much beyond damage.
With Koukou slain, it’s time to head back to the village.
Hustle back and see Mishka, who thanks you for your assistance and gives you the promised item. Then you need to talk to Sunke. Mention Koukou first- Sunke thanks you for a job well done, and then says that it sounds like Koukou may have been possessed by a dark force. He seems about to offer a possible explanation, then dismisses it as impossible. Finally, he offers additional thanks for your work to save the orchard.
With those quests done, you can now pick up another set. Conversing further with the mayor gets you a pair of quests. First is Unfair Trade, for which Sunke offers that you have an enemy in common- the Horde. Apparently, a few days ago the leader of the Horde forces offered to trade- and when his offer was refused, he had several pandaren cubs kidnapped to hold for ransom. The Shado-Pan were called for aid, but they are some distance away, on Kun-Lai Summit. Since that may be too long, he asks that you help rescue the cubs- eight in all, specifically by slaying the demonic eyeballs that watch them.
