To the Northwest you can find Ji and Aysa on the cliff, with a hot-air balloon. The four spirits you returned to the temple are here as well, floating around the balloon and the dock it rests upon. Aysa tells you that they are ready to go whenever you are. Ji points out that if you want, you can wander the woods a little first while he and Aysa wait. Alone. Together. -cough-
Aysa is a bit more serious, though, and cuts him off to say that you should not listen to him and there is a task to complete.
Speaking with Aysa garners you a new belt for the completion of a quest- the Ropes of Grieving. She offers you a brief comfort, and then tells you that there is no time to spend on grief- the balloon is ready, and Shen-zin is surely not getting any healthier. Besides, she says, being the first Pandaren to speak to Shen-zin in hundreds of years is a great honor.
Your next task is clear- board the hot air balloon and go speak with Shen-zin Su. The hot air balloon is actually a bit of a fixture for the Pandaren, much like the Gnomish trains, Dwarven tanks, Goblin air balloons, or Tauren elevators are for the Alliance and Horde. Expect to see them around, not just where you need them for quests but in other places as well.
As the balloon slowly makes its way towards Shen-zin Su’s head, you have a chance to get something of a scenic view of the area on his back. While the land itself isn’t much to look at, generally walled off by forest and, well, walls, it’s a good chance to get an idea of the scope of the turtle. Judging by the space traversed and the size of the one flipper you get a decent look at on your way to talk to him, Shen-zin is roughly twice the size of the island that Teldrassil roots on. Certainly nothing to sneeze at, anyway. The two monks with you treat the sight as more plebian, though. Aysa and Ji converse briefly about Master Shang, who Ji proclaims he will miss, after which she chides him to be respectful of the ancient turtle. Ji teases her a little about this, but she returns the barb- and then you float by Shen-zin’s head. Aysa hails the mighty turtle, requesting that he tell what it is that causes him to ail. For all that you might think a conversation is distracting, even to a creature so mighty that his head is larger than the temple you started your training at, Shen-zin gives no indication that the conversation even requires any of his breath.
Also, take the moment to relax- although his head nears the balloon rather closely several times, Shen-zin is no danger to you or the two monks. In fact, you’ll find that other than turning there’s nothing you can do during the conversation, so you might as well watch, listen, and enjoy the work put into the environment and the huge turtle.
