On your way back up the hill from where you have been talking with Ji, you can spot Jojo again, once more holding court with a group of onlookers. He tells you to gather a dozen stone blocks from the Ridge of Laughing Winds and bring them to him to... what else? Smash with his head. Apparently, he can still see some doubt in you- doubt of what isn’t clear. Perhaps his sanity.
If you turn left from there, you can see a very nearby stand of four crimson pillars with a roof- and another quest is to be found here. Master Shang Xi is here, talking with Elder Shaopai, but the Elder has something to request of you as well. He tells you that the reason the scrolls are damaged is that the hozen have stolen the brushes, and this is what they are using to paint all over the scrolls of wisdom. He wants you to bring eight of the brushes back so that they have nothing to sully his words with anymore.
This leaves you to head South, through the immense stone torii, and into the nearby valley. Immediately you will encounter the Fe-Feng Wisemen, which are the monkeys who hold the brushes you seek. Nearby are a few of the scrolls of wisdom, and the stone blocks Jojo seeks are to be found lying all about as well. As long as you get to each of the scrolls in turn, it doesn’t really matter much where you wander- you’re going to find what you need to complete the quests, and the Fe-Feng really just aren’t dangerous enough to be worrying.
Shaopai thanks you quietly for returning the brushes, and says he will immediately begin working on writing down all the wisdoms again so that they can be re-heng for others to read and benefit from. He doesn’t have anything else to say or offer for the moment, though, so it’s time to go see Jojo and his silly face trick once again.
Jojo thanks you for the blocks, and declares his head stronger than stone- and then proceeds to break the lot of them with one smack of his face. He is, of course, rife with his usual theatrics, but you’re probably as uninterested in them as usual, so go ahead on down the hill to Ji, you’ve nothing more to see here.
