The Evolution of Eevee – Black and White Version 2: Jolteon

Jolteon
Pokedex Entry
National: #135, Unova: #93
“By storing eletricity in its body, it can shoot its bristlelike fur like a barrage of missiles.”

Jolteon remains the fastest of the Eeveelutions (though it remains the 9th fastest overall). It has the power to be a sweeper but its frailty makes it very hard to survive more than a hit or two at most. Most sets of Jolteon will run its basic ability, Volt Absorb, to just ignore Electric-type attacks outright. It is very rare to see its Hidden Ability in use, but there are ways to use it. Any move that works from speed and the right items could make this something devastating.

When it comes to moves, Jolteon saw its spread reduced down so that it learned everything by Lvl. 5o. This is very preferable than its final move close to Lvl. 80! One thing worth considers that may have not is its ability to learn Magnet Rise. This is a very handy move for many Electric-type Pokemon as it removes the Ground weakness they have for 5 turns. Done properly, this can ensure that it will last at least a while longer. It holds as a Special Attack Sweeper in every sense of it. It has the Speed and the raw power, even if it does not have much durability.

Unlocking the Hidden Abilities:
With the addition of the Dream World, it has become possible for all of the forms of Eevee to unlock a hidden ability of their own. If one of the rare Female Eevees has its hidden ability unlocked, then it can be bred and it can be passed on. If not, then you must use the Dream World. Log in and send the desired Eevee into the Dream World. Have it play the “Play to Befriend a Pokemon” game. This will unlock the hidden ability when the Pokemon wakes from its sleep.

Ability:
Volt Absorb: Heal up 25% of maximum HP when hit with Electric-type moves.

Hidden Ability:
Quick Feet: When afflicted with a status (like Burn, Poison, Sleep, Frozen or Paralysis) gain a 50% increase to speed. This negates the speed drop from Paralysis.
