He feels he hasn’t proven the thickness of his head well enough yet, so he wants you to pick up some wooden planks- twelve of them, to be exact, from the construction work going on near the Ki-Han Brewery.
Fortunately, you’re heading there anyway.
The Brewery is located easily enough by following the cobble road to the Southwest. Just make sure you don’t overshoot your turnoff and cross the river- if you find yourself running over a bridge, you’ve gone too far and need to stop and take a look around.
On nearing the Brewery, it becomes evident that there are going to be more problems- the construction workers are missing, and several farmers are guarding the road. Instead of being manned (panda’d?), the Brewery is abandoned, with a very large white Virmen waiting out front. This is Raggis, and he’s here to stop you.... so he can get more vegetables.
At first, facing Raggis seems pretty straightforwards- he tries to chew on you and you try to whatever-it-is-you-do to him. After he hits about half health, though, Raggis dives halfway into the ground. While you can still hit him in this state, he’s constantly moving- which is a pain- and worse yet, he frequently hits you with Nature-element shocks of damage, which knock you back through the air a short distance and stop you from attacking. With Raggis skimming through the topsoil, he gets a lot more dangerous- this is probably the first truly risky fight you’ve had during the whole introductory area. This is especially true since his attacks in this state have some range and his motion is completely erratic- you can’t predict when or which way he’s going to turn, so you have to not only be careful but expect winning to be at least partly a matter of luck.
Once you’ve beaten him, though, it should be quite easy to gather the mallet, which rests on a barrel by the Brewery stairs. The boards are also easy, though the tooltip for the things notes them as being ‘Really solid actually. Jojo’s head may not win this fight.’
Despite that, when you bring him the boards, Jojo simply brags again, declaring that the Pandaren crafters’ wood is the finest, able to weather any storm- but his head is more powerful than anything any Pandaren can make.
That brief diversion over, it’s time to return to Ji with the Recess Mallet. He says that he can’t do anything more to warn the villagers, and requests that you show him the thing. Once you do, he gives you the promised boots and then asks if you’re ready. He points out that you may want something to cover your ears, but it’s a bit late to be thinking of that now, and you should consider the echoing ring in your ears over the next few hours to merely be the sound of victory. Thus your quest: ring that be- er. Gong. Ring that gong.
