Aysa will also grant you the quest ‘The Lesson of the Balanced Rock’- she tells you to go defeat 6 Tushui Monks, who can be found on the balance poles. This is pretty easy- find a monk on a balance pole, move to a balance pole that is close enough to theirs, and then lay out a few of your advanced attacks. Defeated monks will fall into the water and transform- even if you’re not over one of the pools with a curse! Go figure. And no, the cranes won’t eat them- they only care about players who’ve turned into frogs, for some reason.
Once you return to Aysa, a brand new belt is yours- and it’s on with the quest line.
Apparently, Shu, the spirit of water, used to have a friend to play with when he came to the Singing Pools. This friend was not another spirit, but instead a Pandaren- one known to the younger generation as Old Man Liang. Liang moved away from town and stopped practicing in the pools long ago. According to Aysa, Liang lives in a small house to the Northeast, and may have some idea what drove Shu away and where to look for in order to find him.
Given that, it’s pretty straightforwards- you need to find and talk to Old Man Liang.
Liang’s Retreat is in a fairly obvious place overlooking all the pools- you shouldn’t have any difficulty finding it. Standing outside the house is Liang himself, staring down at the waters. He doesn’t get many visitors, he reveals when you speak to him, but any and all visitors are quite welcome indeed. He points to his age as the reason why he’s no longer seen to do anything with Shu, and offers you a pair of quests- The Sun Pearl and The Sting of Learning.
Liang explains these quests as well- Sun Pearls are a kind of stone that he always brought as a gift for his friend, the eternally-young Shu. All his life he would bring one to Shu each time he came to play with the spirit in the pools. The pearls, he says, can be found in pools to the Southeast of his home- and if you obtain one to bring to Shu, you may be able to become the spirit’s new friend.
In spite of that he would play with the spirit there, though, the pools are not safe- even the uncursed ones. Recently, a kind of animal called a ‘water pincer’ has been showing up in larger and larger numbers, and Liang is simply not energetic or spry enough to deal with them himself. Because of that, he wishes to offer you a silver coin in exchange for killing off six of the creatures to thin their numbers. He warns to be cautious though- the Water Pincers are numerous and heading into the pool to face them can lead to a fatal dogpile.
