Returning to Wu-Song village lets you turn in the quests- and pick up a nice new pair of boots into the deal. You’ll also notice that Shang Xi is here, having once more caught up to you while you weren’t looking. With the two quests returned to Ji, you actually have nothing more to talk to him about at the moment, so it’s time to converse with Master Xi again.
Xi compliments you greatly on your achievements, and tells you that you now have the offerings needed to return Huo to the training temple. Your next task given by him is to go to the cave Southwest of the village- and encounter Master Li Fei, who you saw back in the Cave of Meditation. You are to bring her the offerings and then, somehow, prove yourself- after which you need to meet with Huo.
In order to reach the cave, you need to first follow the cobblestone path through Wu-Song village, then- just before it reaches the house where it ends- turn to the left. There is a dirt path here, patchy in places- but even if you lose the path itself, it shouldn’t be hard to continue in the direction it was already going and thus find the cave. More monkeys will get in your way, of course, but if you’re level 5 already, then you have access to the Roll ability, which will conveniently remove a monkey from your back.
On arriving at the cave- the Shrine of Inner Light- you will find a monk waiting there, staring at the path leading into the deeper parts of the cave. He mentions that the fire spirit is upset and the shrine is dangerous- and you can see this. Jets of fire seem to be randomly spouting from the cave floor. Thankfully, you’re agile and you have the Roll maneuver- so you can practice rolling around without interrupting your movement and thus get past the fire jets.
The area filled by the fires is thankfully very short, so you will soon find yourself at a small shrine in a pool- behind this are a couple of ramps, which lead up to a greater pool of water- the area you’re trying to reach so you can find Master Li Fei. The spirit is waiting for you at the bottom of a ramp, which leads up to a flaming doorway- the path to Huo.
Li Fei tells you that your mind and will are strong, but you lack the combat ability to face him. In order to even things out, you need to take a torch, light it in the nearby brazier, and then use that torch to light the other three braziers around the pool. This is a fairly simple run around the edges of the pool, using the braziers and carrying flame from one to another. Once the braziers are all lit, the torch you were given becomes a ‘Torch of Prismatic Flame’. Bring this back to Li Fei to complete the quest.
