Jaomin Ro is a fairly simple fight- mostly he just stands still and punches you. He does pack two attacks that you need to be wary of, though- for the first one, he leaps up into the air without warning- if you hold still he will likely come down on you, and with a landing that causes a small crater and burst of electricity, this is something you don’t want- the hit will stagger you a bit if you take it, and deals extra damage. The second attack you get a bit more warning on- he will jump and an eagle’s cry will sound, accompanied by a phantom eagle surrounding him. Step aside from this charging attack and he may strike a wall, stunning himself (though he will not injure himself). If you instead take the attack, you will be knocked back slightly and take extra damage. Jaomin Ro shouldn’t defeat you, but there is a slim chance of a loss if you’re exceptionally unlucky.
When you turn from the area of the fight, you will find that Master Shang Xi now awaits you on the bridge that you crossed in order to reach Jaomin Ro. Go to him, and inform him of your victory.
Shang Xi has a new task for you- he claims that you have great potential and you are now beyond the training level- but he has a greater challenge for you, that none of his students have ever managed before. Apparently there is a spirit of fire by the name of Huo, who long ago left the Temple of Five Dawns- and you are to return him there, with the help of Shang Xi’s two other most gifted students. Your first task is this: find Aysa Cloudsinger at the pool to the West of where you are currently.
This quest, ‘Aysa of the Tushui’, first requires that you locate Merchant Lorvo, who lurks around Fu’s Pond. In order to reach that area, you will have to return to the path that lead you from the temple to the bridge, and then continue downhill along it. You can stop to take in the sights a bit as well, since the training temple has a rather nice view of the valley below.
You will pass a number of interesting creatures on your way down the hill- Amberleaf Scamps and Corsac Foxes. Neither of these is terribly important to you right now, though nothing is stopping you from attacking them- you just have little to gain from it. There is also a cave that will appear to your left- this is a good sign that you’re almost to Fu’s Pond and Merchant Lorvo- leave the cave be for now and continue onwards.
Fu’s Pond is down the next branch off from the road, a small lake with several large lilypads and a single dock. Merchant Lorvo waits on the dock, though he cautions you to be quiet as you approach- Aysa Cloudsinger is practicing on the lake, carefully balanced atop a lily pad. Speaking to Lorvo, you discover that he came to request her help, but has become entranced by Aysa’s practices... and Aysa herself. You can use this opportunity to buy a bit of food and drink off of him, though you hardly need it. Once you’re all set, use the question mark in his text box to continue your quest.
