Guild Wars 2 – Assist Overlake Haven with their ettin nuisance

“Help recover supplies, eliminate ettins, and attract rabbits to make the ettins less aggressive.”

Head to the Northeast from the Overlake Haven Waypoint. You will find Deputy Jenks at the top of the hill. Approach and talk with him to learn more of what is going on:
Deputy Jenks: “This job is giving me headaches. I'm responsible for the supply chain here and with the roads getting more dangerous there's just not enough food to supply us. Let alone Lion's Arch.”
Hero: “Can I help?”
Jenks: “I could use any help you can offer. If you can lift a crate, kill an ettin, or plant bait for rabbits, you can certainly be helpful.”
Hero A) “Kill an ettin?”
Jenks: “Those ettins keep raiding our supplies. If you could take an ettin head or two, I'd be grateful. When they're not causing problems on the road they are hunkered down in the cave north of here.”
Hero: “Is there anything else I could do?” - back a dialogue panel
Hero: “I'll see to it.” - End dialogue

Hero B) “Lift a crate?”
Jenks: “A lot of our supplies have been scattered throughout the area. If you could return them to me, I can ensure they get back to Overlake safely. Any Lionguard on patrol would be happy to take them, too.”
Hero: “Is there anything else I could do?” - back a dialogue panel
Hero: “I'll see to it.” - End dialogue

Hero C) “Rabbit bait?”
Jenks: “Ettins seem to have a soft spot for rabbits. Plant watermelons at the bait sites, and the ettins, completely fixated by them, will actually become less aggressive.”
Hero: “Is there anything else I could do?” - back a dialogue panel
Hero: “I'll see to it.” - End dialogue

The easiest is simply look around for the random crates that are scattered throughout the area. You can carry one at a time and are granted a sprint ability while you have it in your grasp. Now you can either return it to Deputy Jenks at the top of the hill or to any of the Lionguard that you happen across. You will get credit for it as soon as you turn in the crate to any of the Lionguard.

Next up are the Bait sites. This are noticable by their sparkling. This will take a moment, but it will plant some sliced watermelon. It will draw a rabbit over to it. If there happen to be any ettin nearby they will shift from aggressive to neutral. They will no longer actively try to kill you unless you attack first. This can be handy if you are getting somewhat overwhelmed or need a break from all the killing.

Finally, the ettins. They average around lvl. 19. It is more than possible to keep the fight to just one on one but it can be pressed higher dependent on your skill and somewhat by your armor class. Just fight them until you reach the overall goal for the Renown Quest if you would like.

When you finish this Renown Quest you will get the letter, “Overlake Haven Sends Thanks” with 1 silver, 12 copper:
“I'm writing to express my gratitude for your help. Out strife with the ettins has been long-lasting.

“thanks to your aid, Lion's Arch road and overlake Haven are safer now – Deputy Jenks”
