Guild Wars 2 – Test Your Metal

This is the fourth mission in the Iron Legion Charr. This has you going to a weapon demonstration so your Ghostbore technology as the Blood and Ash Legion would apply it. Head over to the Exterminatus HQ. It is here that you will find the entrance.

Once inside the instance just head over to the East then turn to the South. There you will find the start of the demonstration. Time for you to enjoy a lot of explosions and blasting:
Hero: “Ears up, soldiers. I'm here to conduct the weapons tests.”
Snarl Backdraft: “I'm Snarl Backdraft, Ash Legion. Good thing you're on time. If this Bloody hardhead said one more word, I was going to kill herself.”
Galina Edgecrusher: “You? With your bad aim? Keep pretending, Ash-trash. I'm Galina Edgecrusher, Blood Legion. Once you see our cannon in operation, Legionnaire, you won't need to test anything else.”
Snarl: “Go ahead – test Blood's cannon first. It's always good to start on the bottom of the pile.”
Hero: “Fine. Blood goes first. Galina. Galina, how are you using my Ghostbore weaponry with your cannon?”
Galina: “We launch flares and broadcast taunts to draw out packs of ghosts. Then you blast them to smithereens.”
Hero: “Sounds fun. Get ready to taunt your tails off. I'll keep my finger on the trigger.”

Head to the Northeast where you can find the Ghostbore cannon. Interact with it and it os to,e tp get ready to blast things apart. It start to the Northeast where you will see a good wave of Ghosts coming in. Keep focused more on the field than those getting by. The ones who get by are not a concern as long as it is less than 6 or so. You have a lot of Blood Legion just standing by for some kills. Most will come from just to the East of the Extermiatus HQ. Watch the plateau for the most ghosts.

When the smoke clears from this demonstration Snarl has some words to say:
Snarl: “Not bad … for loud, pointless noise. Come on, let me show you a more elegant use of the Ghostbore weaponry. Our turrets are portable and powerful … a single soldier can deploy up to three on a battlefield and coordinate fire.”
Hero: “So you kill ghosts where you find them, instead of luring them close?”
Snarl: “Exactly. For this test, we're holding ghosts in a containment unit. You place turrets, we'll release the prey.”
Hero: “Sounds like a plan. Let's get started.”

Collect the turrets and head over to the West a little. Set them up in the staging area of the HQ. You can see the containment device set up on the stage. Array them so you can get good coverage of both ramps. This is just your first set up, after a wave you will be able to rearrange them. Things are different here. Ash Legion soldiers, and you, can join the fray. Here you keep the ghosts from attacking the turrets themselves, which they will do if there are not any other targets. You need to get through a second wave of ghosts to finish out this part of the mission.

When it is all done, Tribune Goreblade will show up:
Hero: “Officer on deck! Tribune Goreblade, the tests are complete. I've got all the information I need to decide.”
Rytlock Brimstone: “Not too difficult, I trust? Between Galina and Snarl, you were lucky not to be ripped in half.”
Blood Legion Soldier: “Excuse me, Tribune! A large ghost force is massing near Ashford Forum! They're calling a muster to fight them off!”
Bhuer Goreblade: “Ah, an opportunity. If you have no objections, Brimstone, let's send both Blood and Ash to confront the ghosts.”
Rytlock: “Definitely. The more force, the better. But what side gets the Ghostbore weaponry?”
Bhuer: “Let me confer with my Legionnaire, and I'll let you know.”

Head over and talk with Bhuer Goreblade:
Bhuer: “Ash or Blood? Your choice.”
Hero: “Both legions put my Ghostbore weaponry to good use.”
Bhuer: “True, but we need to focus our resources. You must choose between the two. So tell me: who's the lucky legion?”

Hero A) “Ash. Their turrets make the best use of my weaponry.”
Bhuer: “A fine choice. Report to Snarl and prepare the Ghostbore turrets for combat.”
Hero: “Right away.”

Hero B) “Blood. Their cannon makes the best use of my weaponry.”
Bhuer: “A fine choice. Report to Galina and prepare the Ghostbore cannon for combat.”
Hero: “Right away.”

Before you leave the instance, take a little time to loot all the ghost corpses. They should all have something to offer you. As this is the choice mission, you need to choose which weapon you had the most fun using. For those who enjoyed the Ash Legion Turrets, you will go onto the mission, “Deadly Force”. For those who enjoyed the Blood Legion Cannon you will go to the mission, “Ghostbore Artillery.”
