Guild Wars 2 – Ghostbore Musket

This is the third mission of the Iron Legion Storyline. This has you head out to the Temperus Waypoint. Just go a little to the North of that and you will find the starting point for this instance.

Once inside the instance you will find Craze Steelgrinder right in front of you. Turn and talk with him to get things underway.

Craze Steelgrinder: “So, you Luccia's friend? I hear you brought a new weapon to test. You've got all three tribunes behind you watching like hawks, so this'd better be good. What've you got?”
Hero: “It's called a Ghostbore Musket, soldier. What kind of test do you have planned?”
Craze Steelgrinder: “Luccia said it was a ghost-killer. I can't wait to see it in action. My warband's down in the ruins, ready to flush out ghosts on my signal. We'll lure waves of ghosts into the kill zone – that ravine right there – then you can open fire.
Hero: “That sounds solid. Let me get in position, then we'll do some ghost-hunting.”

Ghostbore Musket:
Seeking Shot: “Find its target at extreme range. Stuns if targeting an Ascalonian ghost.”
Damage: 91, Stun: 2s, Combo Finisher: Projectile, Range: 2,000, Cooldown: ½s

Ghostbore Powder Blast: “Damages foes in an area. Applies a long-duration stun  if they are ghosts of Ascalon.”
Stun: 10s, Range: 1,500, Combo Finisher: Blast, Cooldown: 10s

Ghostbore Leap: “Aim downwards and blast off the ground to fly at a foe.”
Radius: 100ft, Range: 1,000, Combo Finisher: Blast, Cooldown: 15s

Ghostbore Bash: “Knock back your foes with your musket's butt.”
Damage: 112, Knockback: 450, Range: 130, Cooldown: 30

Exhaust: “Launch nearby foes by exhausting the built-up ghostbore energy, dealing extreme damage and granting yourself retaliation. Causes other musket functions to be nonoperational for 3 seconds.”
Retaliation: 10s, Range: 240, Combo Finisher: Blast, Cooldown: 30s

Time to get started tearing through 3 waves of ghosts. Each member of the Grinder warband will come running with a nice train of ghosts behind them. Most of the time it will be a group of 5 – 6 ghosts, all Lvl. 6. First up is Wrak Bonegrinder with 6 ghosts on. Rote Grindstone will bring in a good 5 Ghosts on her tail. Finally Timbre Fargrind will show up with 5 ghost on his tail.

The first line is dependent on who the survivor is (your sparring partner):
Maverick: “Outstanding! Finally a weapon worth naming after me!”
Reeva: “Ha! Did you see those ghost explode? Sparkly!”
Euryale: “Impressive workmanship, boss. Almost as good as magic.”
Dinky: “Wow! Those ghosts disappeared faster than a Meatoberfest ham!”
Hero: “The musket performed better than I expected … but let's see how it does in a less controlled combat situation.”
Crazed: “That's easy. Push farther into the ruins, and you'll get all the uncontrolled combat you need.”
Hero: “Perfect. We'll fight our way in deep and grab a trophy to prove those ghosts couldn't stop us. That should impress the tribune.”

Head to the West and into the trenches of the Barradin estate. You have not only the usual ghosts floating around but also a few extra ones. As you approach the first T-intersection you will intercepted by a trio of Ascalonian Peasants who will attack. Defeat them and head to the Southwest, where you have another 4 Ascalonian Ghosts to deal with. Continue to the West to take on another group of 5 Ghosts.

Now turn to the North and climb up the trench wall. You have to take on another 3 ghosts. One of them is a Veteran Ascalonian Enchanter. After they go down, turn and head to the Northern wall by here. Examine it and claim it to finish this mission out. Just turn to the West and head over to the gathered Tribunes.

Hero: “Reporting, Tribune … er, Tribunes. My prototype tested well against the ghosts. It's ready for the next challenge.”
Bhuer Goreblade: “You've  done exceptional work, Legionnaire. Iron Legion is mighty proud. You'll get a commendation fro this, I promise you.”
Rytlock Brimstone: “A commendation and a roll-out. Blood Legion's already got ideas how to put your upgrade to use.”
Torga Desertgrave: “Hold on, Brimstone. Ash needs that weapon more than your bruisers.”
Bhuer: “Ha! Too bad it's not your decision. Iron built the weapon, so Iron will make the choice. Legionnaire?”
Hero: “I'd need to see what Blood and Ash have in mind before I decide anything.”
Bhuer: “You heard the legionnaire. Demonstrate how you would use the Ghostbore weapon, so my designer can evaluate and choose. Meet us at Exterminatus HQ, and bring your ordnance … and your best manners.”

That will conclude this mission and lead onto the next in the storyline: “Test Your Metal.”
