Guild Wars 2 – The Tribune's Call

This is the start of the Ash Legion storyline for Charr characters. Following your triumph over Lord Barradin you find out that your Warband has been nearly wiped out, it is just you and your sparring partern who have survived the battle. Once you have earned the first renown heart you are call to the Black Citadel via letter to report to Tribune Torga Desertgrave.

Once inside the instance inside your sparring partner will be there to greet you. You have a few words (which varies based on who that is). After that approach Tribune Desertgrave:
Tribune Torga Desertgrave: "At ease, soldier. Damn shame that the battke at Smokestead nearly wiped out your warband. Without you, Barradin would be stomping our skulls now."
Hero: "Yes, Tribune. I owe my survival to Rytlock Brimstone. He held the line until reinforcements came to take out the duke."
Torga: "True. Still, Legionnaire Howl wa lost in the fighting, so your warband needs a new leader. Cragratulations. You're promoted to Legionnaire."
Hero: "Thank you, Tribune. I am ready for duty."
Torga: "I have an operation for you. We have intel that the Flame Legion ha inflitrated the citadel. Their spies –"
Fengar Cruelmane: "Excue the interruption, Tribune. We have hostiles incoming. Ready for battle. Guard Tribune Desertgrave."

Things start fast and hard here. Get into the fray and do everything you can to take out the small force of 4 Flame Legion soldiers. Enjoy the fight.

After the dust has settled from the fight then it is time for a little chewing out:
Torga: "Well done, Legionnaire, you're already proving your worth. As for you Fengar – do you realy need to go back to the fahrar and relearn basic perimeter security?"
Fengar: "The sentries won't mess up again now that they're dead and ... uh ... I'll get new ones."
Hero: "You're lucky I wa here Fengar. The real question is: wa this an attack of opportunity, or is the Flame Legion planning something?"
Torga: "They know we're onto them. Those miserable Flame rats; all they did wa verify our intel. Their blunder's our chance. Here's your mission legionnaire. Go to the Serrated Blade Tarven and ask about about Black Citadel brandy. Your contact will say,  'The barkeep waters it down.' I'm not some Flame sympathizers spend their time there. Discover who they are, and find something I can use to derail their plans. Questions?"
Hero: "None. I'll be be quick and quiet, Tribune."

After some talking you are free to leave the instance. Now head back into the Black Citadel and over to to the West. Get to the Northern spoke and head along that way. Get over to the next instance.

Once inside the instance you just need to head toward the building in front of you. Then it is time to set right into the next part:
Hero: "You there, scrapper. This place have Black Citadel brandy?"
Sicaea the Shrouded: "Sure, but between you and me ... the bartender waters it down."
Hero: "Around here? I'm surprised he's still alive to do business. Speaking of business ... Desertgrave sent me."
Sicaea: "I've identified two Flame Legion spies inside the tavern. They have the password we need, but we can't attack them inside without starting a free-for-all. If that happens, the spies will use the chaos to make the escape and we'll lose them for good. Idea?"
Hero: "Hm. I could encourage them to leave now, and without causing a scene."
Sicaea: "Really? Well, lead on. I want to see this."

Head on inside the tavern. Go to the back right part. There you will find a suspicious charr. Talk with them and offer them up the next round. This will give a personality choice that you can take or just back off. After that, they will notice that you are still staring at them. They get uneasy and just lead the tavern.

Sicaea will approach you and have a quick conversation:
Sicaea: "Nicely done. I thought we'd have to set the place on fire to get them outside."
Hero: "Getting them to move was simple. Getting the information, on the other hand."
Sicaea: "Let's tail them. It's best if we get what we need without directly engaging. That way, they can't warn anyone."
Hero: "And if they catch us following them?"
Sicaea: "Then we see if you fight as well a you spy."

You will be shrouded now. They will head underneath and around the bar. Sicaea has enough time to make a few connections with her work so she knows what is going on. She shares this with you so you know what is going on here. You will see there are some Charr "Workers" around, they are Flame Legion that have inflitrated the ranks. Once the Spies are inside it is time for you to take on the 4 Flame Legion that are on the outside of the hideout.

With all the guards dead, head over to the marked spot and listen in to the conversation happening inside the hideout:
Suspicious Charr: "Here's where we split. Report back to camp Rookie."
Shady Charr: "Hang on. They changed the password again. I forgot it already."
Suspicious: "I can't keep covering for you."
Shady: "They change it at random, sometimes twice a day. Who can keep track of that?"
Suspicious: "Everybody but you. Fine, but this is the last time. It's 'burntsoul' now."
HERO: "There the info we need. What do you say: leave now, or take them out?"
Sicaea: "I say we take them, Legionnaire. Quick and quiet."
Hero: "I like the way you think."

Start smashing away at the door of the hide out. Once inside you just have the 2 Charr you were originally tailing to deal with, or you thought. Instead there are 4 Flame Legion inside here. Most are Lvl. 2 so they will make for easy kills. It is only the Suspicious and the Shady Charr that are Lvl. 4, just a little stronger than you. Just tear into them and everyone around them. Quick and quiet ... in a sense.

With everyone else inside dead, Sicaea will tell you to report back to Torga about your progress. Leave the instance and head into the center of the Black Citadel and go on up to the top. There you will find.

You will find your sparring partner. Now head into the back of the room. Just head on up the ramp there to find Rytlock Brimstone talking with Torga:
Rytlock Brimstone: "Torga. Blood Legion soldiers are missing, and you owe me. I told you about the sympathizers at the bar, now tell me what you found there."
Fengar Cruelmane: "This a bad time, Tribune? Sicaea and the new Legionnaire are back from the Serrated Blade."
Rytlock: "Hey, hold on. I know this soldier. Fought Barradin with me. Made Legionnaire already? Excellent, excellent."
Hero: "Yes, sir. Tribune Desertgrave promoted me."
Rytlock: "Smart move ... and so wa deploying you to spy on the Flame Legion. The Serrated Blade was the bar I wa talking about. What did you find there?"
Torga Desertgrave: "Back off, Brimstone. My operation, my intel. So unless you want to fight over it, I've got agents to debrief. Fengar will show you the way out."
Rytlock: "Fine. I'm putting a lot of trust in Ash here, Torga, but you've got a legionnaire I respect on the job. Because of that, I'll hold off. For now."

Now hea forward and talk with her properly. You can ask why Brimstone was a little angry about things. It turns out that he sent some soldiers to find the camp but they never came back. You will need to be heading into the camp and disguised as a Flame Legion.

The mission is complete and then it is onto the next mission, "A Spy for a Spy."
